Methodology
This syntheis project was concerned with methodology; that is the design and development methods used by the reference model projects. We examined four projects' design methods, and produced a general purpose lifecycle method that encompasses the methods used by the four individual projects. We then used the lifecycle method as means to describe and compare the four projects' individual methods. This work also included grouping notations used for project artefacts (e.g. scenarios, use cases, domain maps) and provides the ability to drill down to individual reference model project's artefacts as examples of notational use.
We include pages on usability and participatory design because we consider them to be important to any endeavour of interactive system design, and particularly important for the kinds of system design considered here.
